50 years of Campsite Koversada in Vrsar, Istria

Campsite Koversada in Istria, recently celebrated the 50th anniversary.

The campsite was first opened in 1961 on small, uninhabited island of Koversada just accross the waters of Limski Channel  nearVrsar.

It was opened in cooperation with travel agency Miramare from Germany aspiring to promote naturist holidays.

Although at the very beginning, Koversada could be reached from the mainland by small boats only, it soon became pretty popular place for naturist to spend their summer holidays.

Later on, in 1977, the small foot bridge was constructed to connect islet with mainland (see above photo).

Nowadays, campsite Koversada is much more sophisticated naturist site that offers apartments, bungalows and camping pitches for up to 6000 people, as well as numerous sports, gastronomy and shopping facilities.
