Mljet Island Camping


Mljet is an island located in Southern Dalmatia in the vicinity of Dubrovnik. It is well known as it is also Croatian National Park that is popular among visitors to Croatia. Mljet has some nice beaches, particularly Saplunara, located on the Eastern edge of the island. It also has two salted lakes in the heart of National Park that is pretty unusual features on the island. Ferries to Mljet run from several mainland ports as well as from some neighbouring islands. The island bus service is regular and connected with ferry arrivals.

There are several camping sites on the island of Mljet, most of them located along the sea in the near vicinity of BabinoPolje. All of them have at least basic facilities such as electricity and water, use of kitchen and WC/shower rooms.

The camping grounds on Mljet include campsite Auto-camp Lovor in the village of Kozarica – a family run campsite, Camping Mungos in village Babino polje, mini campsite Camp Marina in Ropa, Babino polje. Also, very good campsites to have a base in for visiting National Park is Campsite Prapratno on Pelješac Peninsula, located just across the channel of Mljet Island, connected by regular ferry service.
